Upwords is the 3-dimensional word game that’s the stack of fun. It is a simple and easy Scrabble-like board game where in players use stacking tiles to spell the words. It is similar to Scrabble game except that you can also stack the letters on the top of the other words to form new words. The higher the stack of letters, the more points are scored.
In Upwords board game, the players must form the words on a 8X8 grid. They build words by playing letters down or across, like a crossword puzzle. The words can be formed vertically or horizontally on the grid, as we do in Scrabble. Since, the letters can also be stacked, the words can be changed by having letters substituted by stacking. The scoring of the game is different than Scrabble; instead of letter values, when a new word is formed, the number of tiles used in a particular word is counted and used as the score. A word with no stacked tiles scores double, but the words that score most are often those that have lots of stacking. You have to stack lots of letters to score high and win the game.
You can also challenge your opponent’s word if you think that it is illegal or misspelled. Check the dictionary to decide if a word is legal or illegal. If it is illegal, it must be removed from the game board, but the player can place different words for his turn. To do this, you must make your challenge before the next player takes his turn. There are various illegal words in Upwords game which include abbreviations, proper nouns, words using hyphens, foreign words, words using apostrophes, prefixes and suffixes.
